House of Zayru

Why Zayru.

Six choices that shape every piece we make. None of them are marketing — they're the brief.

Aksara research, not aesthetics

Each motif starts in a manuscript or a script-revival workshop. We don't borrow a 'look' — we adapt actual letters from Jawa, Sunda, Bali, Batak, Bugis, and other systems.

Batik cap, touched by tulis

Handstamped by women in Yogyakarta, finished with hand-drawn tulis details on signature pieces. Repeatable but never industrial.

Natural dye where it counts

Indigo, mahogany bark, secang wood. Our Liris Loka line is fully plant-dyed; even our reactive-dye pieces use low-water, low-effluent protocols.

Women-led production

Around 30 women collaborate with the atelier. Skills get passed on; income is dependable.

Nothing wasted

Scrap fabric becomes accessories, tote bags, and patchwork outers. Off-cuts go to community sewing programmes.

Identity, not costume

Modern fits. Office, runway, everyday — Zayru is not 'a batik outfit', it's your outfit, with letters that mean something.
